Abstract

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 accelerated changes in the production, realization and distribution of audiovisual production in the world, exponentially increasing the use of tools associated with software solutions for signal transmission over the Internet. Considering the idea that "the medium is the message" (Marshall McLuhan), the use of streaming solutions allowed new forms of production and generated new languages throughout the audiovisual chain, a situation that the seminar will analyze to try to account for what they were. The emerging differences in television language experienced during the period. Mutations that have been possible because we are immersed in a moment of Habitus changes in audiovisual consumption (Bourdieu).

It is no longer produced thinking of the exhibition through a single screen located in the living room of the home, but for the distribution of content through multiple devices, whether fixed or mobile, built for different modes of consumption that, in general terms, it is individual and not collective like the beginnings of television. All this thinking in a context of media convergence where the tel(viewers) are nomadic and migratory (Jenkins), and in which the future of television -understood not only as a piece of furniture, but as windows through which they exhibit audiovisual content that arrives from different platforms, and that is consumed through various media and forms of distribution – it is mutating. We will debate the mutations, we will analyze the differentials and changes in the productive chain to, finally, try to glimpse the post-pandemic perspectives.
