Author Guidelines

Original and unpublished research articles on cinema and audiovisual arts will be received. They will be accepted in Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.

No type of fee or fee is charged for the presentation of works, nor for the subscription to the magazine The odd figure.

All articles will be submitted to double-blind review, and their publication will be subject to the relevance criteria defined by the Editorial Committee of the journal. Articles previously published or disseminated in any way, including websites of any type, will not be accepted.

The presentation format of the articles is in an editable Word document, in Times New Roman font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, right and left justification, without tabs, with a minimum length of 6,000 and a maximum of 9,000 words. If the article exceeds the maximum word limit, its acceptance will be at the discretion of the Editorial Committee.

The article must clearly state at the beginning: the title, name of the authors, their respective institutional affiliations and emails. It must include a summary or abstract of no more than 300 words, and between 3 and 5 keywords. Regardless of the language of the article, the title, abstract and keywords must also be entered in Spanish and English.

Images must be included to accompany the article, these must be copyright-free or assigned for publication, and must have a quality of at least 150 dpi. They must be at least one image every 1,200 words, and must be attached separately (if the article has 6,000 words, at least 5 images must be attached, if it has 7,000, at least 6 images, etc.). There is no maximum limit for images per article.

The articles must include at the end a list of the bibliography and filmography used. Citations and bibliographic references will be governed by the Chicago Abbreviated Footnote standards (examples can be consulted below, or on the page https://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide/citation-guide-1.html).

The works must be uploaded to the magazine page: www.lacifraimparrevista.ucine.net (information in the “Authors” tab), and will be received until February 29, 2024.

The publication of texts is carried out under a Creative Commons License, Attribution - Non-Commercial - Share Alike (by-nc-sa), whose rules can be consulted at http://www.creativecommons.org.ar/
